ChangeTheWorld Youth Volunteer Challenge is a province wide initiative sponsored by the Ontario Ministry of citizenship and Immigration. The goal is to inspire Ontario youth to volunteer in our communities, develop new skills, and broaden your awareness of the makeup of those communities. YOU can make a difference, just like the 900 youth throughout North Simcoe who participated in ChangeTheWorld 2009. Be one of hundreds of youth between 14 and 19 making a difference April 17th to May 9th this year.

Anything you love to do can be turned into a volunteer act. You just need to share it with your community. We'll help you promote it and create it. And every hour you put into it counts as part of your 40 hours of community service! You'll receive a certificate indicating how many hours of service you contributed.

Do you love to skateboard? Get together with your skateboarding friends and find out where all the best skateboard parks are in Ontario.
Put your findings on a special facebook page, YouTube or publish it on good old fashioned paper. Share it with your community. That's a volunteer act!

Do you and your friends love to play basketball? Run a skills workshop for younger kids at the rec centre or community centre. That's a volunteer act!

Do you love to ride a bike with your friends? Invite a bicycle mechanic to a workshop and have a "bike tune up clinic", charge a small fee and give the money raised to any charity or group you want. That's a volunteer act!

Do you love graphic novels? Create a graphic novel drive to donate to the library or community centre. That's a volunteer act!

We've created some events for you to participate in if you you're stumped for something to do. You'll be able to sign up right on line. Stay tuned for details. And you'll need to download or print out the 'Consent Form' to be signed by your parents if you'reunder 18, so that we can share pics of your volunteer acts on our website and in the media".
