Housing Support Services

Housing Registry

Community Link offers a free, up-to-date housing registry to serve the needs of both landlords and tenants. Our housing registry is always growing and currently maintains more then 600 units. Our registry pays special attention to commodities such as location, stairs, accessibility etc to ensure a proper fit for each tenant.

Landlord Services

  • Up to date information on Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal rules, regulations, access to forms and applications.
  • Free listings of available units.
  • Advice, support and liaison as required with tenants placed through our referral
 

Tenant Services

  • Free access to up-to-date available housing listings.
  • Access to Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal information, forms and applications.
  • Advice, liaison and follow-up support

 

Housing Support
Community Link Housing Support Services offers access to the Housing Retention Fund through the County of Simcoe, access to Enbridge Gas Distribution’s Winter Warmth Fund and Share the Warmth applications. All of these funds are aimed at assisting low-income families to maintain their housing. In addition to fund access we also offer budgeting assistance, referrals to other community services and support to those struggling to maintain or obtain housing.

 

Family Mentoring Program >> volunteers needed
The family mentoring program, sponsored by Cedar Ridge Pops Committee, hosts workshops for low income family members to increase participants knowledge and skills in day to day way to save money and lead a healthier, happier lifestyle. Workshop topics range from health eating, to laundry tips. Workshops are participant driven and encourage networking and sharing of resources and skills. Upon completion of the 6 week workshop series, participants that wish to be partnered for one on one mentoring may be partnered with another community member.

 

Free Income Tax Clinic
CDuring the month of March, Community Link, in partnership with the Chartered Accountants of Ontario host evening free income tax clinics by appointment only. In order to qualify the yearly household income must fall below the current years threshold and be a basic return. Registered chartered accountants volunteer their time to prepare the tax returns. Participants must have all receipts and T4’s, T5’s available in order to file.
