Employer Supported Volunteerism Initiatives

Employer-supported volunteerism may be defined as employees performing work in the community with some form of support and/or encouragement from their employer to do so. Around the world, companies of all sizes and industry types are embracing employer-supported volunteerism as a way to prove their commitment to social responsibility in their communities.

Canadians hold social responsibility as a high priority, and want companies to go beyond the historical role of making a profit, paying taxes, employing people and obeying all laws. Canadians expect companies to contribute to broader societal goals, and businesses that support their employees in volunteering satisfy that expectation.

In North Simcoe, there exists a terrific opportunity for employers to enhance the economic, social and cultural health of their communities, while realizing significant benefits.
